Better Call Saul Production Made Costume Hansens Market Prop Carol Burnett

$100.00

This was purchased from a Studio Asset Warehouse Sale. Although it is not screen used (at least not that I could see) it was made by production for "Better Call Saul" S:6 E:10 entitled "Nippy". Hansen's Market is the fictional grocery store that Carol Burnetts character is in at the beginning of the episode. These vest were made for "extra" employees and not seen as it is such a tight shot on Carol. You can see the sign in the meat department that says Hansen's and I found an article by the director that explains that they called the store Hansens after the property master. I have included the article at the very bottom for reference. The black shirt is not included and is just to cover the red sewing dummy!

The vest are black and the patch is fused on. They are very crisp and look as if they have only been used once. I have several each looks basically the same other than the placement of the patch which is a little different on each. They all say 100% cotton and size S although they are vest so pretty much one size fits all.

I am not selling these as screen used just as production made. These do not come with a COA however I can provide a personal COA upon request attesting to where they were purchased.

Please ask any questions before bidding and as always please do your own due diligence.

Shipping in the U.S. will be free Priority Mail. Overseas shipping will be through the global shipping program.

The Interview with the Director:

I know they went out of business in 1985, but did the writers’ room ever consider resurrecting Hinky Dinky for Marion’s grocery store? [Writer’s note: Kim referenced that grocery store chain in Gordon Smith’s 207 as she was describing her best case scenario had she not left her tiny town on the “Kansas-Nebraska border” for bigger and better things.]

(Laughs.) We talked about Hinky Dinky quite a bit in the writers’ room, actually, but I don’t know if we talked about it specifically for that grocery store. That grocery store, Hansen’s, was ultimately named in honor of our brilliant property master, Mark Hansen. So there are different nods in the episode to people who have been working really hard behind the scenes. You might have also noticed Schnauz Farms Cheese [in honor of writer-EP Tom Schnauz].

Studios will sell off their extra inventory through certain licensed auction houses. They do not come with official studio COA's as the studio does not have the time to identify and verify every single item used on a production so they often give them to secondary auction houses to sell off assets. These items can often be picture matched if screen used or they often come with wardrobe/costume tag identifiers.
